Writing for a Living Colloquium
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga invited York and three other local alums to share their experience being full-time writers with English MA graduate students.
York covered how she leverages her Master degree in English to make a living, as well as how to maintain a full-time writing schedule.
The Best Horror of the Year Vol. 13
Every year Ellen Datlow—or as the New York Times calls her, “the venerable queen of horror anthologies”—releases a summation of notable works in her Best Horror of the Year anthology. Two of York’s stories, “Phases of the Shadow” and “Women of the Mere,” were mentioned as standouts in Vastarien Vol. 3 and Places We Fear to Tread respectively.

A local reporter interviewed York about coming back to the office from the COVID-19 pandemic, including how her writing process was affected, whether or not an office environment aids her workflow, and how she balances her copywriting at Text Request alongside writing short stories.
